| Information | The Freestyle Snow Sports Academy is in partnership with the SD22 online school vLearn. SilverStar Freestyle Club (SSFC) vision is to develop youth in the Freestyle culture of having safe, supportive, respectful fun that embraces a positive learning and teaching environment. Applicants to this program need to be a current member of Silver Star Freestyle's Competition/Development Team. Our goal is to inspire youth to become life-long skiers, riders, coaches, and judges who value family, the outdoors, sport, healthy competition while producing top-level athletes ready to compete on the Provincial, National, and Olympic stage. | Academy Grades | Grades 8 - 12 |
| Academy Location | SilverStar Mountain Resort and various local Dryland training Facilities including indoor and outdoor facilities. |
| Academy Schedule | Semester 1 | Blocks A/B (2025.26 school year) In the spring or fall, when there is no on snow training, athletes will be provided dryland training opportunities for overall fitness and skill progression, as well as study blocks. Dryland may include conditioning activities, strength training, dry slope to air bag training, trampoline, and dry slope to rail sessions. A schedule will be provided to families to support training. When snow conditions permit, athletes train on snow at SilverStar Mountain Resort up to three days/week. Winter Training and competition dates will mean that Academy students will not be able to attend all of their scheduled face-to-face school sessions. Students will be expected to manage their own missed class time by communicating proactively with teachers. |

| Student On-boarding | All students will undergo an initial onboarding procedure to cover health and safety considerations in the beginning of the academy program. Academy mentors will do regular site visits to support onboarding procedures. |
| Parent Communication | Parents will receive communication on student progress following the regular district reporting schedule. Please contact the vLearn office for any additional inquiries. |
| Insurance Coverage | All liability insurance is covered through mandatory requirements as outlined by Canadian Snowsports Association. |

| Selection Process | Athlete must be in at least Grade 8 and be a current member of Silver Star Freestyle's Competition/Development Team. Athletes must meet a minimum skill level as defined by the Academy Coach. Students preferably have competitive Freestyle experience. |
| Link to Expression of Interest | Expression of Interest Form for the 2026/27 school year (2026.27 EOI opens January 14, 2026) Expressions of Interest are due March 27th. Any expressions received after this date will be waitlisted and admitted as space permits. As needed, the Teacher/Coach of the academy will contact you upon receiving this expression of interest to follow up with any further registration information, required parent(s)/guardian signatures and to answer any questions you may have. Please note that the completion of this form signifies your interest in the Academy but does not guarantee your acceptance. |

| Information | $1,893.75 **Note that in addition to Academy Fees athletes will be required to pay SilverStar Freestyle Club fees, Competition Fees, and any other fees associated with memberships, transportation, and lift/venue access. Breakdown of Fees  |
| Financial Hardship | SSFC will review circumstances on a case-by-case basis when an athlete’s potential is limited because of financial means. It is the intention of the club to try and support athletes to reach their full potential. |
