Parent Concerns

At School District 22, we believe in working together to support our children. With input from parents, students, staff and community members, the district has developed guidelines intended to help prevent and/or resolve conflict.

Should you have a concern regarding your child, please discuss this directly with the Principal or Vice-Principal of your child's school. If there is still a concern after this discussion, please forward your concern to @sd22.bc.ca. This email will be forwarded to the appropriate department.

For more information, please see SD22 policy 230 Resolving Concerns and Complaints and an information brochure “How to Resolve Concerns, A Guide for Students and Parents/Guardians.”

ERASE supports building safe and caring school communities by empowering students, parents, educators to get help with challenges, report concerns to schools, and learn about complex issues facing students.

What is the Erase | Report It tool and how does it work?

The ERASE Report It tool is an online, anonymous reporting tool where students can report anything they find worrisome or concerning directly to their school/school district’s safe school coordinators. The reporting tool can be accessed at erase.gov.bc.ca or directly at erasereportit.gov.bc.ca. Using the tool is easy and can be done from a mobile device, computer or tablet.

When a student submits a report, they will be guided through a series of questions to share any information they have about the concerning behaviour or incident.

Examples of issues that can be reported include:

  • Bullying or Cyberbullying
  • Harassment
  • Social Media-related concerns
  • Sexting
  • Inappropriate Sexual Behaviour
  • Concerns involving adults
  • Concerns about a school
  • Racism or Discrimination
  • Drug or Alcohol use
  • Weapons or Gang Activity
  • Threats
  • Violence or Fighting
  • Mental Health Concerns
  • Suicide
  • Vandalism or Property Damage
  • School Attacks or Shootings
  • Or any other behaviour that feels troubling or unsafe

The reporting tool is designed to be completely anonymous. However, if a student wishes to be contacted by the Safe School Coordinator or another designated staff member, they may choose to include their name.

Before submitting, students will be asked to confirm that the information they are providing is truthful. This step helps to significantly reduce the number of false reports.
