Board Members

To send an email to all Trustees, please address it to sd22_trustees@sd22.bc.ca. These emails will be received by each Trustee and copied to the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Secretary Treasurer, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent and Executive Assistant to the Secretary Treasurer.

The Board Chair will endeavour to respond to each email.  Due to the large volume of emails, this may not always be possible.  The Board Chair will not typically respond to anonymous emails, form emails, chain emails, or similar communications.

Many enquiries are better addressed to the appropriate staff member, not the Board.  A list of District staff contacts is available on the District/District Contacts page.  All parent/guardian and student concerns should be forwarded directly to the Assistant Superintendent, koviatt@sd22.bc.ca. 

The Board recognizes that from time to time concerns regarding the operation of the School District will arise. Constructive criticism can assist in improving the quality of the School District’s educational programs and in meeting individual student needs more effectively. The Board also places trust in its employees and desires to support their actions in a manner that frees them from unnecessary or unwarranted criticism and complaints.

Under Section 11 of the School Act, parents and students have the right to appeal decisions made by Board employees that “significantly affect the education, health or safety of a student.”  If you wish to file an appeal through this process, please complete a Notice of Appeal form.

An amendment to the School Act introduced in the spring of 2007 allows parents or students to appeal a decision of a Board of Education made under Section 11 to a Provincial Superintendent of Appeals.
