JW Inglis
The past month was an exciting time at JW Inglis. The entire school community participated in the production of the Winter Concert, titled “Live on Channel 25: A North Pole Newscast.” Special appreciation was extended to Mrs. Redden, the fine arts teacher, for her dedication in leading, guiding, and inspiring the students. It was fantastic to witness the students shine as they showcased their diverse talents. Students devoted over two months to preparing for their singing and acting roles.
The recent theme from JWI’s ongoing learning through the 7 Grandfather Teachings was humility. Students learned about this value during the monthly assembly and through classroom lessons. Throughout the month, numerous examples of humility were observed in students’ interactions. Whether cooperating and sharing during building with snow on the field or assisting one another with classroom projects, students practiced putting others ahead of themselves.
The staff is currently engaged in updating the School Learning Plan, with a focus on literacy and numeracy goals to support student success. Plans are in place to explore and expand literacy strategies during January’s school-based professional development day.
